Mattress Recycling London (MRL) take the mattress apart and recycle the components such as the foam padding, metal springs and material.
The foam padding can be reused to make carpet underlay and metal springs can be melted down to be used again.
Mattresses sent to land fill take up a lot of space and take more than ten years to decompose, polluting soil and water in the process.
