Over 7 million mattresses go bye bye each year in the U.K, only 16% are recycled with the rest being sent to landfill or incinerated.
Mattress Recycling London (MRL) say bye bye to the mattress by taking it apart and recycling the components such as the foam padding, metal springs and material.
The foam padding can be reused to make carpet underlay and metal springs can be melted down to be used again.
Mattresses that go bye bye to land fill take up a lot of space and take more than ten years to decompose, polluting soil and water in the process.
